Dahiya

Dahiya – is a Jat tribe found on the north-eastern border of the Sampla and the adjoining portion of the Sonipattahsils of Rohtak and Delhi, also they are founded in Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra in India.

As per some theory and records – Dahiyas are said to be belonging to Dadhichaka family i.e. the descendants of Rishi Dadhichi who gave his bones to the Gods (to make weapons with to fight the demons) in the Dev-asur Sangram, Some historians consider this gotra originated from Dadhimukha of Nagavansh.

As per H.A Rose, their ancestor Dhadhij, son of Haria Harpal  son of Prithi Raja.* Another tradition derives the name Dahiya from Dadhrera, a village in Hissar, which it thus makes tlie starting place [nikas) of the tribe. The Dahiya Jats, is one of the 36 royal races of Kshatriyas, whose original home was about the confluence of the Sutlej with the Indus. They are possibly the Dahiae of Alexander.
