Ahlawat

Ahlawat, Alawat, Ailawat, Ohlawat ,Ailavat  is a clan or gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in India and Pakistan.

Some theories of Origin –

  • Varahamihira, the author of the Vrihat Samhita, in one episode writes to the Ahlawats and the people of Pushkalavati, along with the Pauravas (Paurav Jat), the Pangalakas (Panghal Jat), the Madras (Madra Jat), the Malavas (Malav/Malla Jat) Probably all these people were on the north-west border of India.
  • According to BS Dahiya’s – “The country of the Aryans settled in Central Asia was Elavart, by whose name they were called Ahlawat, which is a Jatvansh (Gotra). Yayati himself was called Ella.
  • Ahlawat Khap has 26 villages which are as follows –
  1. Dighal 2. Sheriya 3. Gochi 4. Dhandalan 5. Lakdia 6. Gangtan 7. Bhambeva 8. Barhana Gugnaan 9. Barhana Milwan. All these are villages of Ahlawat gotra.  Apart from these, many families of Ahlawat Jats are settled in villages 10. Maharana, 11. Dujana, 12. In the Ahlawat Sangh, Ahlawat Ghana’s Olasinh, Polasinh, Brahm Singh and June were a big famous person who participated in the village. Due to his fame, Ohlan, Soon, Brahman and June tribe from their name. In the district Rohtak, Ohlan is the village of Samala, Khedi, Garhi and Newbass. Brahman is the village and Kharkari village. The Jats of Ohlan tribe from Sample Garhi reached Ratanpur village by reaching Bijnor. Some of Ahlavat tribe are the following villages – half of the District Rohtak, half of it, it is from Dealal village. The Ahlavatas village of this Bahalambha village settled. Many families are of Ahlawat Jats in village Bohar, Madodhendi and Humampur. In the district Jind, village Ramgarh (Padhadhana), Premgarh (Kheda), Bahibalpur, Lajwana Khurd, Chhatty (Fatehgarh) and many families are in Ramkali. District Karnal is a Bbail village. Chirag Delhi in Dhari Province, there are quite a family of Ahlawat Jats in the hill endurance. Even in Rajasthan and Punjab province, Ahlawat Jat is in many places. There are many villages of Ahlawat Jats in Uttar Pradesh. Day in District Meerut, Kondera, Validpur, District Muzaffarnagar in Bienna, Raipurangali, Bhai, Bupada, District Bareilly in Barkapur, Dharuwala, Jalpur, Pav.

The Ahlawat were part of a group of Muslim Jat or Jutt clans, known as the Mulla, who were found in Haryana. Like other Jat clans of Haryana, they emigrated to Pakistan after partition. They are now found mainly in Okara district.
