Dhindsa

Dhindsa – is Jat tribe, which would appear to be confined to Ambala, Ludhiana and the adjoining portion of Patiala. They claim to be descended from Sarohas. In Jind their Sidh is Baba HarnamDas,aBaragi the 17th century, whose shrine is at Kharial in Karnal. Offerings are made to it at weddings. In Sialkot the Dhindsa also revere a sati’s tomb.

As per some other historians – This clan claims its descent from “King Karna” and during the Mughal period in India, the Dhindsa’s migrated from the Sirsa area of the modern Indian Province of Haryana bordering Punjab. This clan peoples founded in Hinduism, Sikhism and Islam also.

Villages in Patiala Distrct :- According to B S Dhillon, the population of Dhindsa clan in Patiala district is 7,950. Dhindsas are mainly to be found in the subdistrict of Amargarh where they own many villages, also their presence is visible in the sub-districts of Rajpura, Patiala, and Ghanaur.

Villages in Jalandhar District :- Dhindsa is village in Phillaur tahsil in Jalandhar district in Punjab, India. According to B S Dhillon the population of Dhindsa clan in Jalandhar district is 1,650.
