History
The town of Akhaigarh was founded by Akhai Singh. Akhai Singh was given 84 villages in the Kated country as his watan jagir by his father Raja Badan Singh. He was a brave warrior and out of all his brothers only Maharaja Surajmal of Bharatpur and Raja Pratap Singh of Weir outshined him. His descendants the Thakurs of Akhaigarh are among the 16 Kotariband Thakurs of Bharatpur.
