Major - General Sardar Gurdial Singh, 9th Jagirdar Of Padhana, was born in 1908 , Was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1929, from Sandhurst Military Academy, England, as a King's Commissioned Indian Officer (KCIO).He saw active service in the North West Frontier Province, during the Momand Operations, and in pre-partition India, he was an instructor at the Infantry Training School, Mhow (now Dr Ambedkar Nagar) in Madhya Pradesh, India.During the Second World War, he served in Burma (Myanmar), and was Commander of the Junagadh Forces (Gujarat), at the time when Junagadh State was integrated with the Indian Union, in a military operation in 1948. He became the founder and first Director of the Territorial Army. He retired from the Indian Army prematurely, due to family circumstances, as Area Commander of Maharashtra in 1951, was married had issue's with two sons, he died in 1971 :-
