History

The zamindars of Sewar trace their lineage to Thakur Shri Sogad Singh, the son of Rai Shri Khemkaran Singh of Fatehpur. After the death of Rai Khemkaran and the occupation of Fatehpur by Sinsinwars, the four sons of Rai Khemkaran accepted the suzerainty of Raja Badan Singh of Deeg. Thakur Shri Sogad Singh who held the fort of Sewar was able retain it after the fall of Fatehpur.

  • Thakur Shri Sogad Singh, zamindar of Sewar, 3rd son of Rai Shri Khemkaran Singhji. He held the fort of Sewar during his fathers time and was allowed to retain it after the destruction of the Sogharia principality, married and had issue.
