AFM Abdul Ali in his journal article in 1925 compared Bhatti Jatsikh ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh Of Lahore and Napoleon Bonaparte. He lists how both facilitated their generals, leading from the front, motivating the soldiers, retreating when needed.
In the end he quotes Lepel Griffin who wrote “The Sikh Monarchy founded by Ranjit Singh was Napoleonic in the suddenness of its rise, the brilliancy of its success and the completeness of its overthrow”
