Baba Naina Singh Nihang, was born in around year 1736 CE, at village Khudi Kalan near Barnala, into Sidhu Jat family in Malwa Region, Baba Naina Singh later joined Misl Shaheedan, as young man. It became known as Misl Shaheedan after 900 Sikhs of Misl Shaheedan, who had been slain or martyred in year 1757, while fighting between the villages of Chabba, and Varpal south of Amritsar, against the Durrani invaders who had caused sacrilege of Darbar Sahib.When Baba Naina Singh passed away, although the date of his death is not recorded, the Nihang Singh’s cremated his body near Sarovar Bibeksar in Amritsar, a Samadh was raised on the site.
