By this time the Sikhs had emerged victorious in their conflict with the Mughals and the Afghans. The Sikhs, men of the blade, could not sit still. Having none else to fight they indulged in internecine warfare among themselves. In the battle of Dinanagar in 1774, Jassa Singh Ramgarhia joined the Bhangi Jat Sardars against the united forces of Kanhiyas, Sukerchakias and Ahluwalias. After ten days of hard fighting the struggle ended in a draw.
