Choudhary Gurdil Singh Of Nabha, was born into Sidhu Jatfamily,He was the son of Choudhary Trilok Singh Of Mehraj, He founded village of Dhanaula in 1729 and later the town of Sangrur which remained the headquarters of Nabha State till it was seized by Raja Gajpat Singh of Jind in 1774. He in collaboration with Raja Ala Singh of Patiala acquired a fairly large territory and possessed a strong force. His successor was his grandson Raja Hamir Singh of Nabha.
