Kunwar Sir Ranbir Singh Of Patiala K.C.S.I , was born in 1873 into a Sidhu Jat family. He was a son of Raja Mohinder Singh Of Patiala, and uncle of the H.H Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Of Patiala. He was appointed a Member of the Committee of Administration on the 19th Februars, 1900, and held this office until the constitution of the Council of Regency in February 1901.The Order of Knight Commander of the Star of India was conferred upon him at the Coronation Durbar at Delhi in 1903. His hearty loyalty and unaffected courtesy make him a worthy descendant of a famous Sikh house: while his vast knowledge of Indian matters was recognised by the British Government by his nomination as a Member of the Imperial Legislative Council in February, 1910.
