Lieutenant-Colonel Maharajkumar Sri Ajit Singh Sahib Bahadur Of Kapurthala was born at Kapurthala in 26th April 1907 ,He was done there education from Eton College, Berkshire, Clifton College, Bristol, St Catherine’s College, Cambridge (BA 1931), and the Prince of Wales’s Royal Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehra Dun. Commanded as temp Hon 2nd-Lieutenant IA 15/1/1936, attached 1st Battalion, 11th Sikh Regiment 1936-1937, promote Captain 1st Kapurthala Jagatjit Infantry Kapurthala State Forces 1/12/1937, o/c Paramjit Infantry 1939-1942, promote major 1/9/1940, President State Soldiers’ Board 1942, Minister of Miscellaneous Department 1942-1946, retired as Lt-Colonel 1946, Assist Indian Government Trade Commissioner at Buenos Aires 1946-1947, and in London 1947.
Medals and death –
He was received many medals like British War and India Service in 1945, and Indian Independence in 1948 medal, Nishan-i-Iftikhar 1st class, and Diamond Jubilee medal in 1937of Kapurthala. He was died unmarried at New Delhi in 4th May 1982.
