Sardar Bahadur Risaldar Ajaib Singh Sarkaria of Ghorewah, was born in 1882. He was the son of Sandhu Jat Jagirdar Risaldar Sardar Kojha Singh Sarkaria of Ghorewah, He was honoured with an OBE (Order of the British Empire) during the First World War, and he served in the Seventh Haryana Lancers. He was declared the hero of the siege of Kotal-Amara in Turkey, where he gallantly fought hand-to-hand, taking five heads of the enemy. He was the first Indian officer who was transferred to the Civil Service as a Magistrate, and was selected as a Jail Superintendent, serving at Jalandhar for eleven years. He married Sardarni Attar Kaur, He died in 1959.
