Sardar Kashmira Singh Of Moga, was born in 1919 into Gill Jat family of Moga Estate, He was the elder son of Sardar Jasmir Singh Gill Of Moga, He was done there Graduation from D.M. College Moga & Joined Indian Army as Junior commission Officer in 1943. He fought in the W.W II. but was recalled by his Grandfather. Then he became active in Politics and joined Congress as he was of the view ‘Sanjhi Jamat Sarian Kauma’ party of all classes and people. He was the Senior vice president of the Municipal committee, member of the Improvement Trust & Market Committee and played a major role in shaping and developing Moga.
He actively participated in socio-cultural activities in Moga. He revived the Dramatics club after the Partition along with Dr. Nand Kumar, Roshan lal Sood and Vaid Tirth Raj. Plays and Musical nights were organized for the People. Later Ram Leela society was established which organized Ram Leela and Dushera celebrations. He was an educationist. He along with Baldev Krishan founded I.S.F. College of Pharmacy and Dr. Saif-ud-din Kitchlu Public Senior Secondary school in Moga. Later on B.R.S. Dental College and Hospital was established near Panchkula in 1992-93. He was also a member of Khalsa Girls High School Moga.
He played an Integral role in bringing about reform & change in the city of Moga. He was well respected in the community, he was an honest man who lived all his life with great honour, pride and dignity. His integrity was the most Important part of his life. He adhered to high morals and principles and never wavered from them even in adversity, He was died in 2005.
