Sardar Nanak Singh Phoolka Of Bhadaur, was born in 1886 was the son of Sidhu Jatchief Sardar Partap Singh.At an early age he displayed signs of wisdom and maturity. At the age of 13, he was urged by his father, to manage his ancestral estates, for which he was given an allowance. Within 15 years, he successfully managed to clear the mortgage debt. He was a staunch and an exemplary Sikh, with profound virtues of wisdom and integrity. On the occasion of the annual Dussehra Durbar at Patiala, invitees were sent circulars to attend with their beard rolled up, which in the eyes of Nanak Singh was prohibited in Sikh customs. He wrote a letter to the Maharaja of Patiala, Sardar Bhupinder Singh, objecting to this request and stated firmly that such a step was unorthodox in Sikh doctrines. The Maharaja yielded to this at a later stage.Nanak Singh attended the Dussehra Durbar without his beard being tied up. Sardar Nanak Singh Phoolka Of Bhadaur attended the Dussehra Durbar without his beard being tied up. Such was his influence, that the Maharaja of Patiala bestowed upon Nanak Singh, an Honorary Distinction, but at the same time, the Maharaja had clandestinely ordered his police officials to maintain a strict vigil over Sardar Nanak Singh, due to his rebellious nature. In his short life span, he achieved so much and was appointed the President of the Malwa Singh Sabha, then the only governing body representing the political welfare of the Sikhs. He was married to Sardarni Gurdial Kaur, and on his premature death, he was succeeded by his three children; Harnarain Singh, Bibiji Narinder Kaur Sahiba and Gurdev Singh. He died in 1914.
