Bakshi Manah Singh, Manah Singh son of Brave Jat Jagirdar Lajja Singh native of Kauntrilla, was originally a Rais of Sialkot, but subsequently settled at Basrali a village in Rawalpindi district. Manah Singh was first a revenue officer under the Sardars of Atariwala and later a Nazim of the Rawalpindi district. He died in 1824 and his son Gohar Singh, began service in the army of Jodh Singh Atariwala and ended as the Kardar in Jullunder Doab.
