The town of Kartarpur (near Jalandhar) was subjected to plunder and indiscriminate killings. The Gurdwaras were set on fire and razed to the ground. Similar thing happened in Amritsar. The holy tank (of Darbar Sahib) was desecrated and slaughtered cows were thrown in it.
When Abdali was on his way back to Afghanistan, Charat Singh of Sukkarchakkia Misl harassed Durrani forces through guerrilla warfare, attacking in the evening and disappearing in the darkness. Charat Singh kept on attacking Durranis from Gujranwala till they they crossed Indus frustrating the Afghans.
