Lieutenant-General Rajkumar Sri Jasbir Singh Of Jind, PVSM was born at Bhimtal, Nainital in 20th August 1925. Commissioned as 2nd-Lieut IA 1947, promote Lieut 4th Gorkha Rifles 1948, served in Kashmir 1948, UN Repatriation Csmn in Korea 1953-1954, UN Repatriation Commissioned in Congo 1961, C.D.T 191 Infantry Brigade 1971, GOC 15th corps Jammu & Kashmir, C.D.T National Defence Acad at Khadakvasal 1977-1979, prom Lt-Gen and Cdr Northern Sector 1979-1981, Mil Sec 1981-1983, retd 1984, Colonel the Jat Regiment, Editor-in-Chief “Indian Defence Yearbook” since 1997. Author “Handbook of Military Science and Armament Technology” (1983), Member Council of the USI of India, etc.
Rajkumar Of Jind was married to Rani Sri Gita Devi Sahiba ,( born in 1926; d. at Dehra Dun, November 2005) She was daughter of Raja Pratap Bikram Shah, of Khairigarh-Singhai, UP, by his wife, Rani Bhuwan Rajya Lakshmi Sahiba, daughter of Commanding-General H.E. Svasti Sri Madati Prachandra Bhujadandyetyadi Sri Sri Sri Maharaja Deva Shumshere Jang Bahadur Rana, T’ung-ling-ping-ma-Kuo-Kang-wang, Maharaja of Lambjang and Kaski.
