Major Sardar Jasjit Singh of Kapurthala, was born at Bikram Palace, Bikrampura, Jullunder, Punjab, in 12th April 1893, he was the elder son of Colonel Kunwar Partab Singh Ahluwalia of Kapurthala, he was done there education from Aitchison College, Lahore. In 1911 he become the MLC Punjab,then Hononey Magistrate for Jullunder District 1915-1943, later on he become the Hononey 2nd-Lieut ILF 1/2/1918, attached 16th Cavalry 12/8/1918, served in Afghanistan and NWF 1919 where we received the Waziristan medal,and promote to Hononey Lieutenant 1 Feb.1919, promote to Hononey Captain 6th Duke of Connaught’s Own Lancers 1-Feb 1923 then he promote to Honorary Major 1 Feb.1936, Vice-Chair Jullunder District Board, then he become the member Punjab Historical Society. He was received many medals like Delhi Durbar silver medal (1911), Silver Jubilee (1935), and Coron (1937) medals. He was done there two marriages first with a daughter of Rai Bahadur Buta Singh, CIE, OBE, of Rawalpindi, and second with a daughter of Jatchief Sardar Hukam Singh, Jagirdar of Butari, in Ludhiana dist. He was died from pneumonia in 29th March 1943.
