RANI MAHITAB KAUR OF LAHORE, was daughter of Chaudhari Sujan Singh, an Atval Jat Chief of Malla, in Gurdaspur district, She was married to Maharaja Ranjit Singh about the year 1822 by the rites of chadaranddzi, knotting the sheet cover. She survived the Maharaja and lived up to a ripe old age. The British allowed her an annual pension of Rs 1,930.
