Sheikh Farid Shakarganj (1173 – 1265AD or 569-664 AH) of Pak Pattan writes that we will reap whatever we sow. If we do bad deeds or sins, we cannot get (we may wish) a blissful life. In the salok number 23, page 1379 of Guru Granth Sahib he refers to Jatt, the farmer. In salok 27 he makes reference to Pagg (turban). One can find references and learn history even in spiritual verses.

Fareed, the farmer plants acacia trees, and wishes for grapes.
ਹੰਢੈਉਂਨਕਤਾਇਦਾਪੈਧਾਲੋੜੈਪਟੁ॥੨੩॥HandtaiOunanKathaaeidhaaPaidhhaaLorraiPatt ||23||
He is spinning wool, but he wishes to wear silk. ||23||
ਫਰੀਦਾਗਲੀਏਚਿਕੜੁਦੂਰਿਘਰੁਨਾਲਿਪਿਆਰੇਨੇਹੁ॥FareedhaaGaleeeaeChikarrDhoorGharNaalPiaaraeNaehu ||
Fareed, the path is muddy, and the house of my Beloved is so far away.
ਚਲਾਤਭਿਜੈਕੰਬਲੀਰਹਾਂਤਤੁਟੈਨੇਹੁ॥੨੪॥ChalaaThBhijaiKanbaleeRehaanThThuttaiNaehu ||24||
If I go out, my blanket will get soaked, but if I remain at home, then my heart will be broken. ||24||
ਭਿਜਉਸਿਜਉਕੰਬਲੀਅਲਹਵਰਸਉਮੇਹੁ॥BhijoSijoKanbaleeAlehVarasoMaehu ||
My blanket is soaked, drenched with the downpour of the Lord’s Rain.
ਜਾਇਮਿਲਾਤਿਨਾਸਜਣਾਤੁਟਉਨਾਹੀਨੇਹੁ॥੨੫॥JaaeMilaaThinaaSajanaaThuttoNaaheeNaehu ||25||
I am going out to meet my Friend, so that my heart will not be broken. ||25||

Fareed, I was worried that my turban might become dirty.
ਗਹਿਲਾਰੂਹੁਨਜਾਣਈਸਿਰੁਭੀਮਿਟੀਖਾਇ॥੨੬॥GehilaaRoohu N Jaanee Sir BheeMitteeKhaae ||26||
My thoughtless self did not realize that one day, dust will consume my head as well. ||26||
ਫਰੀਦਾਸਕਰਖੰਡੁਨਿਵਾਤਗੁੜੁਮਾਖਿਓੁਮਾਂਝਾਦੁਧੁ॥Fareedhaa Sakar KhanddNivaathGurrMaakhioMaanjhaaDhudhh ||
Fareed: sugar cane, candy, sugar, molasses, honey and buffalo’s milk
ਸਭੇਵਸਤੂਮਿਠੀਆਂਰਬਨਪੁਜਨਿਤੁਧੁ॥੨੭॥SabhaeVasathooMitheeaaanRab N PujanThudhh ||27||
– all these things are sweet, but they are not equal to You. ||27|
