Sardar Gurbachan Singh of Raja Sansi , was born in 1855 , he was the son of Sardar Thakur Singh Sandhawalia of Raja Sansi, he was nominated to the Statutory Civil Service, and served as the Assistant Commissioner in Punjab in 1886. After taking a month’s leave, he travelled to Pondicherry, and failing to report back for duty in the Punjab, he was dismissed from service. In Pondicherry, along with his brothers, he took charge of the correspondence of Maharaja Duleep Singh of Lahore, with their supporters in different parts of India. The brothers also established contact with the French authorities in Pondicherry, and their letters to the Maharaja Duleep Singh of Lahore were transfered through diplomatic channels.
