Sardar Sameerpal Singh Of Attariwala , born in 1916, into Sidhu Jat family, he was the youngest son of Sardar Chhanga Singh Of Attari. He joined the Indian Army in January 1942, and had a distinguished career. He was deputed on two foreign postings to Indo-China. Prior to his retirement in 1968, he rose to the rank of Colonel and actively participated in the Indo-Pak Conflict in the Rajouri Sector (J&K). He was known for his passion for Urdu poetry and had authored several books.
He has two sons, Dr.Parminder Singh and Ravi Inder Singh. He died in 1997 at Dehradun.
