Sardar Thakar Singh of Rosa, was born into Sandhu Jat family, When he was young and expend his estate he become a Risaldar in the service of the famous Dina Beg Khan, – Governor, first of the Jalandhar Doab, and then of the Panjab. On the death of his master in 1758 he setup for himself, and contrived to possess himself of a large tract of country in the Gogaira and Gujranwala districts. In 1765 he joined Saddar Hari Singh of Bhangi and Sardar Jai Singh of Kanhiya in their expedition ‘against Kasur, where he was killed by a musket-shot. His eldest son Sardar Lakhmi Singh of Rosa only survived him a year, and Jodh Singh of Rosa succeeded to the entire Rosa estate.
